Carpet One

Pull out the welcome mat. Carpet One, a major flooring retail store with more than 800 stores throughout North America, has joined the fight against breast cancer this fall.

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women, accounting for 30% of all new breast cases. This year, an estimated 21,200 Canadian women will be discovered to have breast cancer, and 5,200 will die from it.

For the "Carpet One Welcomes Your Support" campaign, which will take place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, over 800 Canadian and American stores will contribute 25% of their sales from specially-designed welcome mats to this cause.

You can choose from three distinctive welcome mat designs, each of which is emblazoned with a pink ribbon, the internationally recognized symbol for breast cancer awareness.

Made of plush nylon, the welcome mats are water- and stain-resistant, machine-washable, and can be used both indoors and out. Funds raised through this campaign will go to the Canadian Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society, and will be specifically earmarked for breast cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services.
